To celebrate Stefan Heym’s 100th birthday the International Stefan Heym Society is organising another conference in Chemnitz. It will take place on 11 and 12 April 2013 and will be jointly organised with the Department of Modern German and Comparative Literature of the Technical University of Chemnitz. The subject will be: Witness to a century – the writing of history and ideas on history in the work of Stefan Heym. A number of speakers have already expressed an interest in participating. The conference will be accompanied by a supplemtary programme that aims to bring Heym’s life and work to a wider audience. The events will be supported by Heym’s native city of Chemnitz.
